colin mclEAn's (cccm) report from 1/26/2014

Hey Tim,
Much has happened since my last message on Friday. The work in Eastern Samar continues at full pace. On Saturday part of our team begun work on Pastor Jarome's fathers home on Hernani. Pastor Jarome is the senior pastor of CC Hernani and his family's home was destroyed during the typhoon. As we broke ground there, another part of the team continued work at CC Hernani. Right now work is focused on the second floor and putting in what Filipinos call the comfort room (CR) or to us, the rest rooms.

A few team members assisted in the daily feed program at a school in Hernani. Dozens of women and children come by each day at 3p for a meal of rice fortified with soy protein and other ingredients. Steve Coon did an evangelical outreach in a small town near Hernani. 200 people in the very small village showed up to hear the gospel and receive a stipend of rice.

On Sunday almost all our team were sent all over Samar to teach at various churches. Paul Esber and Stewart Stencil taught at a church in Maydolong (very close to where we are in Lalawigan).  Steve Coon taught at CC Hernani. While Michael Pino, David Medina and Jason Renner joined local Calvary pastors and went across to Western Samar to share at churches there this morning.

The team from CC San Juan Capistrano left on Saturday. They were amazing and such a blessing to the ministry over here. We are now joined by a team from CC Spring Valley who will be here for the next 10 days.

As it's Sunday, the teams have a day off.  This afternoon we went into the town of Borongan to get internet action and sample some Filipino delicacies. The work resumes tomorrow.
Thanks for your prayers! Keep them coming.

Cheers.
Colin.
