Christmas party in hernani, samar: CC Dumagete

Here is some of the Pics of an outreach we did in Hernani with CC Dumeguete with Pastor Jerome giving the message.

It went really well and everyone was encouraged including the staff at the school.

They were given a shoe box full of goodies, food and drink, and most of all a message of hope, with many responding and lots of families coming up after to personally think all of our team for coming and caring! Some great relationships are being established in Hernani, and they are really looking forward to the church being rebuilt. By the way our teams cleaned this school up and removed all the debris so that they could reopen a week ago. It was good to see the teachers and students back on the property. They are actually thinking about putting tents up in the courtyard to have high school in them, since the High School is completely destroyed. We will be sending all the Pastors and helpers home for Christmas and will not do a whole lot in Hernani now until after the Christmas celebration is over.

Rebuilding CC Hernani

Here is the latest picture of what has been done with the church in Hernani. My son Joshua is there watching over things now and doing a great job of continuing the work there with the teams and the nationals.
Foundational pillars are being poured now for the second level along with the foundational slab for the ground floor, since they all have to be poured together for the strength of the building. Crazy since all is still being done by hand. We did also continue the work at the Bible School, with Glen from CCLM now helping to watch over that project after after Pastor Bong got them going. They had a little trouble getting the sand to quit caving in on them there while digging the foundational footings for the pillars, but Pastor Bong showed them how to shore it up and now they have two foundational pillars in place and are working on the other 8 that are needed.  We continue to feed the children, and now with school trying to go back into session we are feeding the whole student body and teaching staff in Hernani, there were originally 482 children in the school about 200 of them have returned to school, some are still unknown about, others have moved with family in other parts of the island. CC Dumaguete and the Bible College along with the "U" Turn family and visiting teams are doing a Christmas party for the school kids with all of the teams doing the ground work for that event these last couple of days, it will take place tomorrow in the Philippines. The Superintendent of Education had a meeting with me before I left asking us to expand into two other brg. that were so devastated and also asked if we could help with some school supplies (pencils, pens, paper, erasers and any out dated books from any of our schools which would help them greatly since all was lost in the typhoon.
God Bless you all as we work together to help those so devastated.
That is all for now guys, keep praying, and thanks for the help everyone is giving.
God Bless!

meeting with the mayor of hernani

Guys,
This is the Mayor of Hernani, Edgar became a good friend of ours since the Typhoon, we have been doing Bible Studies with the Chief of Police and his men for about 3 years but never really got to know the mayor except to get permission from him throughout those years to do different events for the people, but since Typhoon "Yolanda" we have been working really closely with him, and he has given us permission and begged us to be there long term with him and the people as they recover. Great guy really fighting for his people to get help from the government now. I was just introducing him to Joshua, but as you look behind you can see that even his office and building are without walls, celling falling down from the water damage, and almost no equipment made it through the storm. An old typewriter was all that was left of the office equipment because it was manual. It would be great to help them with some of that on my next trip. I'm planing on going back around the third week of Jan. so I can be there with a few teams.
